Fractional CO2 + Q-switched Nd:YAG laser system: The high-energy concentrated laser is emitted instantly, allowing the fixed wavelength laser to penetrate the epidermis rapidly.
The original specification describes a short time (only 6nm) before the laser reaches target tissue and breaks pigment into fragments. Macrophages then digest the particles.
Pigment fragments are eliminated through the lymphatic system. The treated color can gradually fade or disappear completely.
The product description states that surrounding normal skin does not absorb the fixed wavelength and remains undamaged.
In fractional CO2 resurfacing, the beam is divided into separated microbeams.
When these microbeams reach the skin, small areas between them remain untreated and intact.
Those untreated areas support faster recovery and healing with less risk of complications. The treated columns are called microtreatment zones.
